Invest in a court specifically engineered for people
– not firetrucks

Your knees, hips, back (and family) will thank you.

The best way to lessen the chance of injuries while playing tennis is to play on a surface that is specific to the court’s purpose. We make the most shock-absorbing asphalt and clay tennis courts in the world. Whichever surface you choose, your knees, hips and back will thank you.

Similar to soft asphalt, clay courts put less stress on the knees and back during play and do not radiate as much heat, making them cooler to play on than asphalt or concrete. The ball motion on a clay court is a little slower, permitting longer rallies.

Court Materials

At Court Contractors Ltd., we can create various types of courts, including asphalt, clay, and synthetic surfaces.

Asphalt Penetration: This is also referred to as soft asphalt. It uses layers of clear stone where each layer is sprayed with a rapid-setting liquid asphalt to give the court a sliding surface that is easy on the back, knees, and feet. This type of court does not require any maintenance, and the coarsest stone used is ¾” right up to the final layer, which is 1/16” in size.

Asphalt has a smaller carbon footprint than regular hot-mix asphalt construction. Ask us how.

Hot-mix: Also known as hard asphalt, the surface of a hot-mix court is comprised of compacted fine asphalt put in place by a mechanical spreader.

Clay: Clay provides a sliding surface that helps transfer energy from the player to the surface when the player stops,

saving stress on players, ankles, knees, and hips. A natural clay court surface consists of clay mixed with sand and silt. Fast-dry surfaces, such as Har-Tru, consist of crushed brick or stone with a chemical binder.

Acrylic Surfaces: These surfaces are specifically geared for asphalt penetration and hot-mix courts and can include layers of rubber cushioning. At Court Contractors Ltd., we use only the best acrylic surfaces – California Sport Surfaces – the surface provider of the US Open and the Australian Open.

Synthetic Surfaces: Synthetic surfaces include artificial grass, artificial clay, cushion overlays, and the latest manufactured surface product. We’ve seen many different products and technological advancements with tennis court construction over the years, so we know what works and what doesn’t.

crack-free guarantee.

Court Contractors Ltd. guarantees that your court will remain crack-free for five years. That’s a long time for a surface that has to withstand inclement weather, humidity and heating issues, and, of course, the pounding footfalls of athletic humans who spend their days and nights perfecting their serves.

Our new-court guarantee covers all labour and materials, which is something that most contractors do not offer. For over 45 years, we’ve been building quality courts that we can be proud of. We stand by our products, and our new court installation guarantee reflects that.
